BIOGRAPHY
Based on Ngunnawal and Ngambri land (Canberra), Madisyn Zabel is an artist predominantly working in sculptural glass. By manipulating external surfaces and creating internal planes of colour, Zabel explores the relationship between two and three dimensions in her work.
Her work has been featured in exhibitions nationally and internationally. Her solo shows include exhibitions at Sabbia Gallery in 2021 and a commissioned year-long installation at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery from 2019. Her work has been recognised through numerous accolades, including the Museum Kunstpalast Jutta Cuny-Franz Foundation’s Talent Award in 2017, the JamFactory FUSE Emerging Artist Prize in 2020, as a finalist in the Art Gallery of Western Australia’s Tom Malone Prize in 2021, and finalist in the Woollahra Gallery Small Sculpture Prize in 2023. ​​
