On Tuesday for the first time in months I blew some glass to not only get out of the Canberra cold winter but to also make some production work. The image below is of one of the pieces I made.
Recently I was lucky enough to be in a group show at M16 Artspace in Canberra with recent ANU graduates. The show explored ideas of geometric abstraction across a wide range of media...I was the only representative for glass!
Recently I was fortunate enough to attend classes at both Pilchuck and Corning. I took two classes, one with Jiyong Lee (exploring coldworking and lamination techniques) and the other with Fred Metz and his team (exploring digital fabrication and applying it to glass). Within the three weeks spent in America, I learned so many things that I will apply within my practice (especially during my final semester of honours) and I met so many amazing people who love glass as much as I do.
